Tue May 06, 2014 3:46 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Where can I get clutch plates for an 87 NF5, and are these the same plates used on later RS's as well?

Thanks!

If you have the old plates, you can get the fibre ones relined by SAFTEK 01274 862666, about £70 with a quick turnround. I think 87 ones are the same as later NF5, up to 92, but 93 on NX5 friction ones are different, i have tried them, the steels are the same. Good luck with it. Les

If you were racing it, ( which i dont think you will be ) not very long, but just for the occasional outing, ie, a few trackdays or parades, i would have thought you would get away with a couple of years before thinking about it. Of course if you still have the high first gear in that will hammer it unless you go gently with it. Be nice to see a few piccies as well, not too many NF5,s on here.

It may well be raced I have enough spaires for a couple of seasons. I'l try and get some photos up. it needs a paint but its a pretty clean bike underneth. It was raced in the USA and Canada from 87-89 so has most of the 88, 89 engine and electrics that honda dished out.

Struggling with getting brakes seals since I got it which has slowed things down.
