MC18 Carb vaccum hoses

Sat May 17, 2014 9:34 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

So I'm finally getting my MC18 back together and so far so good. I basically just need to install the carbs, pipes and set the RC valve servo and hopefully she'll fire right up. But in my infinite wisdom, when I stripped down the bike to clean the carbs I ripped off the hoses and forgot to tag them! In my defence though, I did expect to put the bike together much earlier. Nonetheless I'm sort of stuck because I'm not 100% sure how the hoses are routed. I have looked up pictures of NSR carbs but it is just too difficult to really tell and/or the carbs are slightly different.

So, if someone with knowledge of an MC18 would be so kind, can you inform me which hoses shown below go onto where?

The hoses to play with. 2 hoses and 2 T pieces with 2 hoses coming off those.

Looks like these is 6 spots on the carbs to connect hoses: Slightly larger diameter fittings on the right sides of the carbs, 2 on the left sides near the inlets and then the carb drains (which I don't think had hoses on them).

These probably connect to those T pieces I'm guessing?

Also, there is no oil feed lines currently. The previous owner premixed the fuel so I'm gonna do the same til I get the carbs set good and the bike running well so the oil lines on the carbs are just looped over. Annoyingly, the version of my service manual has really contrasted photos so anything detailed is just blacked out. Anyway, any help is appreciated.
