16T front sprocket

Mon Mar 31, 2014 6:27 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I looked in the Marketplace and could only find 14t and 15t front sprockets.
I have a friend looking for a 16T or 17T front sprocket.

Anyone know of any sources for these?
I've checked Tyga, Google and the site search with no luck.

You may find what you are after here. They take a while to ship though. AFAM for instance do 16 tooth front sprockets for the NSR.

I just received one of these AFAM 16t sprockets in the mail and it is not a direct replacement.

The website says it is a fit for MC21/28 NSR250s, but the packaging has only 1980's models listed.

The inner teeth (or whatever they are called) are a slightly different. It will physically go on the shaft, but only with the help of a hammer.

Has anyone modified one of these to fit?

Here is a pic of what I mean. The inner teeth are wider and shorter than OEM ones. Where the standard sprocket fits on and has a small amount of play, this one has to be knocked on with a hammer and has zero play as all.

Has anyone tried to file the teeth back on a similar sprocket? Are there any issues with doing this?
