hi guys my question is what sort of tyres shall i put on my nsr 250r as i need a new pair and i would like some nice sticky tyres i dont do lots of miles so the stickier the better which do you think all advise taken regards to all a13bee.
I'm also looking for a pair of tyres for my bike, mine's is 18" in the rear and there are not to many options.
I have seen good rear tyres for 150€ like brigestone batlax.
Also I've seen a fancy rear tyre but i haven't heard of the brand before. They seem good quality and good price they are Shinko 006 Podium Radial but i don't know how they will performance.
I hope it helps.
Cheers
Pirelli Rosso Corsa's are very good, heat up quickly and grip very well in most conditions. They are more road-orientated than the Supercorsas, which are still good, but are pretty lethal in the wet/cold (speaking from personal experience). The Rosso Corsa's also won the Performance Bikes Magazine giant tyre test recently.
Pirelli Supercorsas are good if the roads are dry and you can get them up to temperature - They tend to be a bit more track-orientated though (especially if you use the "SC" compound tyres). Track tyres don't always make a good road tyre!
I think tyre choice is a very personal thing, lets face it, most tyre manufacturers make good bike tyres these days, so it's down to personal preference most of the time.
Like argonaut said, it's mostly down to personal preference, my preference is, and has been for a long time, Dunlop D209GP, road and track. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
Dunlop H qualifiers are pretty good. I have them on the NSR, the RGV and the RS Aprilia, Also use Alpha10's for the NSR (on spare wheels), but to be honest I cant tell the difference. The 3XV came with Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmarts that I don't really like.
IMO if the suspension is set up properly (OK I have a full Maxton conversion front and back on the NSR) that gives any tyre an easier life. Put sticky tyres on a badly set up bike and it will be rubbish. Vice Versa and you would get away with average tyres on a well set up bike.... What I'm saying is if your bike isn't set up correctly, your choice of tyres is probably irrelevant.
I've got Bridgestone BT14's because of the 18" rear, but I have another set of wheels with a 17" rear and a set of Supercorsas for those. That's what I run on my Ducatis.
