PGM 3 Question

Thu May 12, 2005 4:32 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi All,

If a PGM 3 wasn't working, let's say the unit couldn't activate the power valves. Is it theoretically possibly for the PGM 3 to still start the bike and have it run?

I just sold a PGM 3 unit from a bike that was running fine. However, I did not check if the powervalves were opening and closing properly. Just that it was running. The new owner of the unit is having problems now because the powervalves are not opening. I just want to make sure I didn't sell him a defective unit.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Yes it's entirely possible. USUALLY, the circuit running the PV's will burn out and lunch the whole thing, but a 'gentle' failure, may simply toast the transistors involved and not damage the rest of the board.

Be 100% sure the RC motor is not seized ? That will fry a PGM also.
