Standard exhaust

Sun Jul 27, 2014 9:19 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

I was wondering if the standard exhaust system for a 21 and 28 are different?
I can see that they have different partnumbers but I want to be sure.

Same question for the mufflers. Are they different?

Both the MC21 chambers and silencers are better (less restrictive) than the MC28s, however they are not a direct replacement.

I recently bought a MC28SP in HRC colours and want to bring it back to original so i ditched the Tyfa bodywork and cleaned the standard bodywork that came with the bike.
I noticed that the mufflers are original but the mounting point is cut away and wrapped with carbon looking paper.....
So now I am considering to make it stock again or go for Tyga exhausts.
I runs the HRC card now but can switch to standard if I swap a plug.
The last owner made a drawing with an explanation of where to switch what.
But I think that I also need a MC21 flywheel, other airbox and some high flow reeds to make it work right?

I also don't know how old the pistons are so I am also considering to do a top end rebuilt. What do you think?
