powervalve and servo

Mon Jan 26, 2015 7:39 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all,
I am new to the list but not to NSR. I am trying to restore a MC18 and noted no PV movement. After cable disconnect, I troubleshooted the servo per the manual. There is no movement when 12V across the W/R and W/Bl. But also, there is only 4.1V from those wires coming form the harness when the bike is on, at idle, and up through at least 6k. Then there is a momentary flip of voltage at higher rpm.

So I compare to my MC21 that runs perfectly, then note this bike also there is no PV movement. The servo is stuck on the "Lo" mark despite the bike idles perfect, revs perfect, and is a blast to ride. This one, same symptoms but reads 3.1V across the W/R and Y/R leads from the harness.

What the heck is going on here? Comments please and/or direct me to the (search) thread discussions....???
