rear shock removal

g'day, probably a stupid question ... but how do you remove the rear spring/shock assembly? bike is down to chassis (everything off except wheels, swingarm, ) have a mc21.. have removed top mount nut and bolt and also bottom mount nut but not sure if i remove bolt what will happen? under pressure or holds up rear end etc...

The rear subframe falls down onto the swingarm and will squash all that is in between. Prop it up with a plank of wood.

no worries , thanks for that , got it out no problem.. i see how it works now.. cheers... one last question... im down to the frame and swingarm still connected, ive removed the shaft which the swing arm pivots on and now not sure now how to separate from here.

looks to be an allen key ( quite a large one ) needed to unscrew next bit? ive removed the locking nut with the slots in it but havent got the tool for the next step... anyone know the size of the tool required or am i seeing it wrong...

I am going by memory and it had been more than 3 years but yes I think that is what you need, a big Allen key
