Fairing Bolts

Sun Jun 07, 2015 4:03 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I'm waiting for some new panels to arrive for the NSR and would like to replace the old tired fairing bolts with some new ones. Are the originals still available to order and if not are there any nice alternatives available?

These are all the major fasteners for the fairing [not inc. seat]. All listed as of 19:00 07/06/15 on the Honda system as available. Price inc VAT, +P&P

It`s up to you but I would get the originals freshly zinc plated..........Keeps the bike original and maintains the value of the bike as a whole in my opinion Very Happy

Definitely an option if (a) all the original fasteners are still present and accounted for, and (b) not rounded off or damaged.

You could take £24 off that price if you don't count all the little nylon washers (6mm [Dzus] retainers), then if you only plated the silver fittings, and just bought the small green screws, you could probably get it looking good for half the new price.

You get what you pay for, but if they are new Honda panels, then personally I would fit them with all new Honda fixings.

Is it still possible to get new Honda panels?

There are a few bits of the MC28 lowers available, in various colours.

I was recommended to buy some Chinese panels in order to save my original panels. I'll try and find the rest of the bolts but I'm pretty sure a couple are lost.
