OK...gunna get smashed for various reasons here but...mc16 back firing off one cylinder...spat black powder (carbon?) out the right exaust on backfire? Obviously lean but anything else I should look for?
What makes you say "obviously lean"? Have you had the carbs off?
Have you left it any length of time with the fuel tap open? Are you sure the expansion chamber isn't half full of fuel? It wouldn't be the first time it's happened.
Do the cylinders have equal compression? Is it actually running on both cylinders? Backfires can often denote a partially seized barrel.
