Rear master cylinder problem ??

Thu Jul 16, 2015 6:34 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hello all ..

After a bit of help with rear brake bleeding ??

Trying to bleed the brakes through no matter what I try I can't get fluid through have checked the seals they look good .. The cylinder seems in good nick the main hole is clear from the res but will not draw fluid ??

To make it worse I got fluid on my nice newly painted exhaust !!

Any help appreciated or if anyone has a good secondhand 21 cylinder I will replace ..

Cheers Paul

Have you tried using a syringe with clear tubing to try and draw fluid through the system and out the caliper?

Some fronts can be absolute pigs, but the rears are usually OK. You could try an HRC (or HRC style) single-length banjo bleed bolt on the rear master cylinder, but to be honest, if you can't bleed it, even if it looks good, the seals or piston probably are shot.
