MC 18 Project

Tue Jun 09, 2015 11:29 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi to all, this is my first post even though I have been a titanium member for some time but really haven't had much to post about as for the last year and a half I have been gathering bits for the old girl.I now have 3 MC18s lol. So here is how she stands.
MC18 4J, F3 crank and cases, RS 250 14mm pin pistons, 5K Gearset, TA 21 carbs, HRC jet kit, PGM2 and wiring, F3 rear swing arm (still to be fitted when it is cleaned up) RVF400 forks, TYGA triples, 929 front rotors and callipers, Brembo RCS 19 master, HEL braided lines, TYGA MC18 pipes and carbon cans, TYGA rear sets, TYGA sprockets, TYGA carbon Gen cover, TYGA body kit for the MC18, MC21 carbon race tail (had to make me own subframe), well pretty much the whole TYGA catalog. MC21 17" rear, MC28 radiator and the list goes on.
Still waiting on stuff stuck in customs- HRC PGM2 SS, F3 gear set, transistors to fix the 5 PGM2 I have that were supposed to be good lol and some other odds and sods. It has been a labour of love for the need for smoke again, I must say dealing with Philippine customs and basically having to pay double for everything ( I am an Australian) and having stuff sit there for 6 weeks + waiting for clearance.
Here a a couple of pics before I strip it down again for the final clean and build up when I get all the new Ti bolts and stuff (oh thats right stuck in customs coz they are shinny).

Thanks to Paul and Matt @TYGA, Andy @racelines for the help and of course the Minister of War and Finance my fantastic wife for paying all the import duty when I was at work lol.
More pics in the next week or so
Oh and the cost……..lots but who cares its a stroker!!!!
Cheers Troy

god dam it how do I make the pic files smaller!!!!!!

E-mail me some photos if you want, Troy, and I'll host them.

Great collection!

The first post is usually one step onto a slippery slope! It's all downhill from here! Laughing

Been awhile since an update busy with work and family.
Got my ECM fixed and finally a lot of parts out of customs and now she is alive and registered. Rides nice and now back in the shed for the final strip down and assembly and get the paintwork fixed (thanks kids for scratching the tank and tail while daddy is at work)

The last part is the F3 rear shock that I have purchased but apparently cannot be shipped from Japan as it is a dangerous item (according to Buyee) as it will instantly explode as soon as they place a international shipping label on it. Many arguments and emails and I am still not getting anywhere so it looks like $400 USD down the drain. Any suggestions as to how to get it out of Japan. Obviously it is the nitrogen res. I asked them to drain it but blah blah blah. I am of course happy to pay whatever to get it then I can send it for overhaul to Andy and hopefully finally have the old girl finished.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Troy
