Front radial brake master cylinder question

Sun Nov 15, 2015 9:27 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi Forumites,

Apologies, as i know this has been discussed a few times before on here, but even with using the search facility i cannot find a definitive answer.

Can anyone confirm which front brake radial master cylinders are suitable to replace the standard SE unit on my MC21.

I have read that the radial units from a Fireblade 1000RR and maybe also CBR 600RR models are suitable, but i am not sure what years (that description covers the last decade or more).

Can anyone tell me for sure please?

Many thanks,
Max

I seem to recall mine is something like 06~07 (CBR1000RR). I bought it off racer38, who may remember [if he sees this post].

I run standard shape bodywork, with no interference with the brake lever, however I have NF5 USD forks, so I am not entirely sure the bar position is identical to stock.

Thanks Andy - I will take a look.

I run Tyga body work, and standard RWU forks, but am fitting new adjustable clips ons, so hopefully clearance won't be an issue.

If they aren't too expensive, i can get one to try.

Thanks again.

That's the beauty of it... they're only 1/4~1/3 the cost of something like a Brembo or Accossato.

At full lock to the left ...Radial hits my gauges. Plus I had to fabricate a bracket to hold the Reservoir.
I used a CBR1000 as the donor...works great
