NSR 150 SP RC Valve Pulley Adjustment

Tue Dec 22, 2015 3:39 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Anyone familiar with doing this? I have a 2001 NSR 150SP, Australian model, but these instructions don't seem.... right.

On my stock bike, the only marks I have on the pulley body are, Low, High and the pulley wheel mark for aligning, but no marks for actually aligning the pulley with the HIGH or LOW mark.

If I don't have these marks.... how do I do this!?

Can you post a photo of your cylinder? that sounds odd.

In the photo you can see a very thin line on either side, I guess that's the mark, but it's almost impossible to see it without a picture Confused Shocked Embarassed

When you look at it in person, the area looks brushed, so it's very hard to determine the accuracy of the alignment :/

Check that the gap between the notch on the RC valve timing pulley and "H" mark on the cylinder is within 0.3mm

This might be a poor translation from Thai, just to make sure I do this correctly.

The aligning mark on the pulley needs to align at least within 0.3mm of the "H" aligning mark, circled in red.

That's the marks you are looking for.

BTW, Andy may be able to chime into this, somewhere in the deep dark pits of my memory I thought that the 150 was supposed to use the HRC tuning method, not the one you dug up (where did you dig it up from)?

Found an 'english' version of the NSR 150 Honda service manual. Not sure where, I still have the .pdf on my PC.

Also, HRC tuning method?
