Needle jet holders

Sun Feb 07, 2016 8:00 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

My winter strip-down after last years theft and recovery is well underway but my incompetence has no limits.

For one reason or another I have over-tightened the needle jet holders (which are now embarrassingly damaged beyond use) when re inserting them and don't have spares.

Its just the holders I'm after the jets themselves (#185) seem ok.
It appears nobody has spares anywhere to just order so I'm asking everywhere I can think of.
If you have anything on a shelf let me know please. My summer could be over in February.
According to the manual the Honda part number is 16165-KV3-830

Thank you

Are they standard or HRC jet kit? I might have some standard ones.

I would like to post photos but don't know how.

I have tried to respond to johnnymac but the email bounces back undelivered each time.
johnnymac could you send me another email address and I'll forward a photo.

Because I have less than 10 posts I am also prevented from sending private messages.

(This is not strictly true - I have been on NSR-world since 2004 but mostly dormant since the revamp)

Its not all down to me but I have to suck the overall blame.

Bugger.

Good news is I have sourced replacements.

Trying to pull a positive out of this - every time it goes tits up I get more contacts!

Thank you everybody, once again.

Mal.

Make sure the needle guides (the bit that pokes into the venturi, sometimes also referred to as the jet nozzel) are seated properly, fit the emulsion tubes (main jet holders) by hand, and then just nip them up with the spanner.

Hardly any force at all is required on them.

Just want to echo Andy's advice on doing up the emulsion tubes.

I actually do them up via the main jets first, and then just give the emulsion tubes a tweak so that they slightly tighter than the mains, that way you can pull the mains out without loosening the emulsion tubes.
