I was out on my 1992 NSR250SP (MC21) the other day and it completely cut out on me. Was running beautifully up to that point (don't they always!

No spark, dashboard lights all on and strong, battery good. I have asked a couple of people and both have suggested that it could well be a knacked PGM unit. Question is, is there an easy way to test that this is the case without getting a replacement PGM and plugging it in! Can I check it's functioning correctly with a voltmeter and if so, how??
Many thanks for your help
