How Much power with...?

Fri May 27, 2005 4:58 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

How much power could the NSR250 SP achieve with:

Complete '89-'92 RS250 electrics (if they can be fitted)
RS250 '89-92 barrels and heads
RS250 38mm carbs & airbox
RS250 pipes

This would be for racebike application only...

So what you pretty much meant to ask was:
"What sort of power could an NRS make?"

Realistic power would probably be around 75hp, with the potential for a little more still. It won't ever make quite the same power as the RS though. You'd be just as well off, in fact better off, fitting the complete RS250 motor into the frame.

Have a look at TYGA Performance's NRS here.

Matt Patterson built an MC28 motor with RS barrels for a guy called Art Antonio in California and it made, if I remember correctly, 74hp.

The best plan for the transmission would be to fit the F3 parts to the NSR one or simply slip the RS transmission in. Again, I say you'd be better off fitting a whole RS250 motor into the chassis.
