New NSR owner

Hi guys, I thought I’d better introduce myself as I’m new to NSR ownership and need some advice.

I bought an MC16 last week off ebay with a view to modernising it with MC18 and 21 parts. It came with an MC21 fairing, NS400R nose cone, MC21 set of clocks and also a set of NSR125 clocks. I’m selling the unwanted parts to get some extra cash for the project.

It’s pretty clean but has been messed about a bit. It already has an MC18 seat unit fitted so I fancy fitting MC18 fairing too. I’d prefer genuine Honda fairing but if this proves difficult to source I’d go for a full set of Chinese bodywork. What is the best company to buy Chinese fairing from?

I’m going to fit a complete later model front end to it. Rear end I was thinking of fitting a complete MC18 swingarm/wheel assembly. I want it to be a relatively straight forward project as I’d like to ride it at some point this year. If anyone can help me out with parts I’d really appreciate it.

Once I get cracking with it I’ll create a post in the build area.

Dave

Hello Dave, and welcome to NSR-WORLD.

It looks like you've picked up a good base to work with there!

The MC16 is pretty easy to "update" with later parts in a number of areas. That seat unit & fuel tank already look very at home there! Smile

Interested to see a build thread in due course.

Thanks Andy, I'm glad it’s relatively easy to fit later NSR parts. I don’t mind a challenge though as I've worked on many motorbike projects in the past; 2 and 4 stroke. I’ve also got a buggy project on the go that I built from scratch with an Aprilia Mille engine Very Happy

Would love to see more of the buggy! Please feel free to create a thread in the "Open Discussion" area, if you want to. (I do like to keep it strictly NSR in this section please.)
