MC18 R5 crank seals.

Mon Jun 06, 2016 5:28 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi Everyone, so the time has come to rebuild my top end.. I have sourced the holy grail bearings but cant seem to find crank seals? has anyone got any idea where I might find them? I am in South Africa. one more thing are the mc 18 pgm 2 and mc 21 barrels the same or is the port timing different? I might be able to get a decent 21 barrel which a lot cheaper than nIcasil in sa. Thanks in advance Troy.

The outer crank seals should still be available from Honda, I just bought a set from David Silver Spares here in the UK. if you're referring to the centre seal I know that a company called T2 in Japan have been making aftermarket ones but no idea if anyone's used them yet? I understand that the old centre seal can often be ok to re use but don't quote me on that. I'll have to pass on the second question and leave that to somebody who knows!

T2 Seal is for the earlier crank and won't fit the R5 crank.
