Water Pump Drive Shaft

Sun Jun 12, 2016 6:42 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

The plastic cog of the water pump drive shaft has eaten itself and left me in a desperate situation.
As far as I know Honda have stopped manufacturing these parts.
The only place I've seen them is on the Dog-Fight Racing web site, http://dogfight-shop.com/?pid=95970714
Has anybody ever ordered from them? Do they post outside of Japan?
If so, do you need to set up an account with them?
The whole web site is in Japanese and as I don't speak or write Japanese setting up an account could be difficult to say the least.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Same situation here mate mine is all cracked and I want a new one. There is always the option of running an electric waterpump mate that tees into the bottom hose I believe, no one bothers to reply it seems. Keep me posted!

Emailed Dog Fight 2 days ago but no reply yet. Not sure if I will get one.
I got a reply (in English) a few years ago when I enquired about their pipes. Wasn't expecting it but there you go. From that I thought I might get a reply on this one but nothing yet.
My contact in Japan, Morawaki Man, is laid up pretty bad in hospital at the moment and he doesn't know when he will be back in action so not good at the mo.
What's this electric pump, who makes it?

Does the EWP option do away with the stock pump shaft and mechanical seal?

Id imagine you could get a blank oil seal and then ditch the shaft etc you could still use the waterpump housing to direct water through if you wished. Otherwise you could just bypass it. The bonus would be having less drag on the engine by removing a driven part, how much benefit I am not so sure if much at all, however reliability and peace of mind would be the biggest bonus!
