swingarm right pivot collar

Wed Jul 13, 2016 9:50 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

hey all,

Can anyone tell me if its normal to have the right swingarm collar stick out?
I just replaced the 2 bearings (seated right up to the circlip) and when I put the collar in, it does not sit flush with the swingarm compared to the left side. Is it supposed to?

Attached Picture shows the collar sitting on top of the bearings (bearing seals not installed yet).

Thanks!
jon

Jon, not sure which side you mean by right side, but looking at my w/shop manual it looks like the chain side spacer could be longer than the other side, have you got them mixed up ?, hope this helps, Les.

part 9 on in the swingarm parts diagram is the part in question
http://workshop.nsr-world.com/11kv3lj7/2FK11KV3LJ7/Pic/J2.html

I currently have part 10 (chain side spacer) sitting flush with the swingarm after the bearings got installed...however I am wondering if part 9 is also supposed to sit flush.

Thanks! (I should have taken better pictures before i took everything part Laughing )

Can anyone take a picture of thier swingarm assembly (not-chain side) from the top down?
Is the pivot collar flush with the swingarm?

Thanks!

I did a swingarm swap from an mc18 to mc21.
Here's a pic I took for comparison. The 21 arm is on the right side.
I remember the collar sticking out when I got it and I had to machine it to fit the mc18 frame.
