Well done that man, are you looking for a filler cap for that lovely tank, and a proper front tank mounting gizmo.

Tom gets a supervised visit every second weekend Very Happy

Les I do need a petrol cap, but I have the hard to find tank strap although I nearly lost it. I trailered the bike home with the tank off and forgot to remove the strap, thought I had lost it hence the o-ring but found it later hanging on the power valve mechanism Embarassed

Hard to find tank strap may not be as difficult as you think.

But there's a price to pay and I don't mean financially, 'cos the last one I bought for the NX5 was less than a fiver - brand new in the packet.

I Will double your money and give you a tenner for it Very Happy Did you order it from Honda recently or have you had it stashed away for a while?

The part number listed for the NF5 and NX5 shows as nla from Honda. I believe most people use a TZ strap.

I do have a NOS NF5/NX5 strap, but it's staying put for now.

3YL strap is pretty much identical, plentiful and cheap as chips.

I suppose, now you have an nf5, i'm not gonna have the monopoly on buying up all the n.o.s. stuff !!!!. Mark is right about the 3ly strap, dirt cheap and almost,--- i say almost the same, only a worry if your'e a rivet counter though, i still have the original, but they do go hard over time and lose their stretch, a bit like ourselves i suppose, look forward to seeing it.

We definetely need to have a meet up. As for my other bikes I dragged the Pentax out from hibernation this week, 3 kicks and she was running like a good un. The Rothmans bike is coming along slowly but surely, been restoring sub assemblies so it will be just a case of bolting it all together, the engine is away at the vapour blasters at the moment. My track bike is virtually finished just need to get it running and use it and my 89 CR250 is waiting to be ridden.

I'm trying to resist starting on the RS until I have finished my other projects but its the one bike in the garage I really want to work on at the minute. Very Happy

Can't wait to see what it'll become. I'm gutted that I had to get rid of it, as I love the classic look of the NF5. It's like a pimped up NSR. I was so excited putting it together over Christmas. Enjoy mate, so glad you took the plunge.

I'm sure the tank strap was on it as I can remember straining to get it on the tank! Must have dropped off. I'll check the shed.

Repsol, YZR500, Blade and NXA. All of them non runners! I love a project me....

We should meet up, in fact I was thinking of popping round last weekend to drop off the compressor and see how the house is coming along.

Oh yes, forgot about the 500.......and an NXA....must of missed that one!

I shall get rid of my 92 blade in the next couple of months, then I am down to just the three MC28's, hopefully a manageable number that I can get on top of and enjoy now the house is nearly sorted.
