Hi All,
I took off the rear tire of my MC21 to get a new tire mounted and there is noticeable free play in the sprocket. Tried tightening the 5 sprocket bolts but that did nothing. My records indicate the sprocket was last changed 26000 kilometers (8 years!) ago by an independent mechanic who is no longer in the area. I'm unfortunately pretty damn ignorant/inept in this area. Is it likely that the sprocket nuts, which I gather are buried in the hub, just need to be tightened? From the manual, it looks like these would be a pain in the ass to get at and a high risk for error proposition for someone like me, e.g., requires bearing puller etc. Or is it more likely that it is just time to have the sprockets & chain changed by someone who knows what they are doing, i.e., not me? (The sprocket teeth are somewhat pointy but not hooked or blatantly messed up to my untrained eye). If so, are any special parts needed, or should a Honda shop that likely has little if any direct experience with NSRs be able to do it without issue? Thanks for any constructive advice. _________________ -Jim

Thanks, Andy. I see the KV3 in the number so am guessing it is specific to the NSR. Gulp. Do you know if it is still available or by chance has a cross-reference?
Many thanks. _________________ -Jim

You should be able to get that bearing from any bearing supplier, or decent bike shop. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
