Anyone need a trackday place?

Mon May 23, 2005 10:02 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all,

due to an F****** B****** of a courier, I will now not be able to make the track day or the dyno day. Pissed off doesn't quite cover it! When I'm a bit less angry about it all I may post details, but basically the courier has smashed two of the three barrels on the way back from the tuner.

Please PM me if you need a spot on the 3rd June trackday.

Or if you want to buy a half finished NS500(!) just about complete. MOT etc. Just needs putting back together with 400 barrels.

Thanks, Mat.

Sit down, get a nice cuppa and chill for a bit.

Where there is a will, a way will be found.

Claim for all 3 barrels from the courier Razz borrow a wrecked one from Stephen as he has many .....

Screw them for everything.... !

When you have chilled out a wee bit, think of me if you are parting with the 400 barrels and the damaged 500 as the porting would be of great interest.

Thanks Razz

Hi,

I think I will have to put the 400 barrels back on so people can hear it running.

But if I sell them, I'll let you know.

I'm thinking of taking my NSR125 MC16 to the trackday, but it doesn't run properly, and I'd be frustrated at being overtaken by everybody as it accelerates like a 125 and only does 90mph, and come home with a nice dyno chart that says 25bhp.

Maybe in a week or two I will have calmed down a bit and will not be so annoyed about it, but it hasn't happened yet! I spent a long time building this bike for all to be F***** up by a stupid courier that thought it was funny to chuck the stuff about.

I can't claim anything, only the sender can claim. Even if a claim was succesful, it would take ages to get the money, then send the barrels back to repair and replate or find new ones.

Mat.

like i said to you on the phone, use your 400 on the track which you were going to do anyway and then we will fix your 16,then run your 16 on the dyno,so the 16 will be up and running and dynoed so all will not be lost,if we can get the 16 fixed at the track you can use both on the track.

It always helps to cool off a bit and then take stock of what's happened.
It's still a downer and I'm sorry for you - they couldn't have timed it worse...

What you could do is study the porting on the 500 barrels and take some ideas and apply them to the 400 barrels. Build the motor up in 400cc mode and have a good time at the trackday ? At least you could blow away the moderately fast for fast RD's on the staights as well as the twisties..

i think waynes got the right idea. with the 400 top on you will still have a good track bike, and a trick one at that. the way my track bike is running at the moment you,ll be lapping me Embarassed
don't let the A" hole who rubbished your barrels f*%k up your weekend as well.
the way things are going at the moment, i may well be using the van for the track day Laughing Laughing thats an idea we could take it in turns to sit on a bike in the back of the van while the other one drives Wink

Hi all,

Thanks for all the emails, my trackday place has been sold. so I guess my dyno spot is available as well, so if anyone wants it, please let me know!

Maybe next year I will have a bike capable of getting round a track, sadly it will probably have 'CBR1000' or 'R1' on the side...

NS500 will probably in my shed in bits under a pile of junk if I haven't sold it. NSR250 will probably still be running badly!

Have a good trackday!

Cheers, Mat.

No-one said owning a two stroke would be easy, but you don't expect the lows to be cause of other peoples incompetance.

You not gonna come along at all? Go on, bring the bike in the van and we'll have two days of rebuilding / tinkering to get it going right. If the combined brains / spanners of those there can't fix it, or at least diagnose the problem, you'd best set fire to the lot and throw it in the canal!

The other thing to consider, is that there will be loads of parts to interchange with your to help track down the trouble.

Other than that, we need the NSR for the photo shoot!
