Hi all - sorry in advance for yet another thread on this, but after days of studying the service manual and reading every RC Valve thread I could find through the search function here, I've gotten pretty close to finishing the adjustment.
Here's what I've done so far:
1. Loosened the lock nuts and all cables completely so there's no tension on the servo motor
2. Put card in with kill switch to RUN --> Servo motor automatically moved to LO
3. Pulled the card out --> Hit kill switch to OFF --> Disconnected the TPS
4. Hit kill switch to Run --> Inserted card --> Servo motor automatically moved to HI (supposedly - see pic and Q1 below)
QUESTIONS:
Q1. My servo motor marker doesn't reach the HI mark --> Is this normal cause I thought the pointer should be further up?
---I've also tried starting the bike and rev to 2500-3000rpm and this is about the same height the servo pointer has gone too.
Q2. Next step is simply to adjust the brackets on the cylinders so that the pointer aligns with the back plate and then tighten the cables?
Yes, that is correct. The "Hi" isn't the position the pointer should rest in, it's a marker to show the direction in which the pulley should rotate. _________________ Andy.

The stepper motor is using a rotary variable resistor for the ecu to work out the position of the cables. Every units hi/lo position will be slightly different hence the amount of adjustment in the cables to be able to set the rc valve accordingly.
As Andy has stated the marks are more directional than fixed points.
I am just putting the final touches together to be able to refurb nsr 250 stepper motors cheaply.... Ill keep you posted!
