Fork emulators

Tue Sep 20, 2016 5:13 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all.
Has anybody tried the race tech fork emulators.
They have 1995 listed on there web site.
Will these fork on the earlier mc21sp forks.
Or is it a case of needing the mc28sp damper rods.

Emulators are only needed if your forks don't have rebound and compression adjustment. The sp forks are adjustable in both rebound and compression..

The standard R forks probably would benefit from emulators, it would be a bit of experimenting to make it work.

Thanks for the reply.

I was under the impression that the MC21-SP forks were only adjustable in Pre-load and Rebound ?

Is it possible to drop in the MC28-SP cartridges so as to make use of the Racetech Goldvalve Emulators.

I tried the race tech told valves in my forks. The SP forks have valves in them that are not too far off from the race tech,,,,I was not impressed. I replaced the innards with Ohlins cartidges, huge difference. But I confess some of the difference may have been that I used an Olhins spring that was correct for my 185lbs. The stock springs were old and clearly too soft for me.
