The tach on my NSR is slow to start (doesn't move), and I'm pretty sure it's electrical-related as it'll pick up and start reading again if I keep the revs held constant for 5-10 seconds. I tried cleaning every plug and contact I could find with contact cleaner and it's a brand new Yuasa battery (same problem with the old battery).
After reading up on various threads, I'm thinking the R/R or stator could be starting to fail on my 97 MC28.
Bike: 97 NSR250 MC28
Battery: New Yuasa (fully charged with a Tender Jr)
Readings on a digital AC/DC auto range Multimeter:
Card out / Completely off - 12.95
Card in / Bike not started - 12.35
Card in / Bike started and idling - 13.1 warm (14.47 the first time I did it cold)
Card in / RPM @2.5K - 14.37
Card in / RPM @5K - 14.25
Comparing to the ElectroSport Fault Guide, it says that there shouldn't be an electrical issue.
Do these readings sound healthy??
ps / headlight and speedometer dim a little bit when idling and get brighter if I rev the bike
