title Question for NSR - USA residents

Thu May 05, 2005 12:27 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

What does your title say on it?
NSR or NS or ?

im going to go register my bike tonight
and im thinking im gonna try to title it as well
as ive heard you can get away with it here in maine

wondering if i should put NSR on the title or use something that was imported nx 250, or whatever...
dont wanna trip any red flags cause i know i can have it "legal" without the title in Maine.. Just thinking if someday i want to sell, seems like the title is makes the difference for all the rest of the states...

anybody?

If you can get a tiltle, by all means, get it now. It won't be any easier to get a year from now. I would try to title it as an MC-21.

What good is it if it's not straight-up and honest ? Titles not worth much to someone else if it's not what is says it is. Get it right !!!

Straight up and Honest?
Are we talking about NSR's in the USA here?
They are Not legal here Wink (Shhhh dont tell anybody!) Wink

Anyhoo, i got it registered last night due to the under 300cc doesnt need a title clause. They told me since it does not need a title, that i can not apply for one. I Pushed the issue a little, and they said i could try talking to someone at the DVM if i wanted.. Not sure if i want to cause im "legal" at least to ride it. Just makes it not worth as much to other states if someday i sell it. (dont think id ever want to sell my NSR)

Quick run down on how I got mine registered.

I bought a import, so I sold it on paper to a friend in Maine, who then sold it back. I took all the paper work to N.H. D.O.T. they looked it over and gave me a New Hampshire Title. Ya I was nervous, but I did it again for the new one and it went very smooth.

If your willing to stick your neck out a little you could start a title buisness for NSR's or find a friend that is wiling if you don't want to get involved ! I'm sure there are people that would pay $$$$ Maybe test the water with another ?
