Just bought this. Been sitting for a decade or so waiting for me to rebuild/restore it.

Well, I pulled the carbs off and went through them, and they were very clean. Had to pull the pilot jets out and unplug them but overall extremely nice. checked the gearbox oil and it looked very clean/fresh. Pulled the plugs and though they were a bit sooty they looked ok. Had to clean the anti-slosh foam out of the tank as it was disintegrating. Put 1 gallon of 30:1 premix in it and tied bump starting it a number of times but no joy. any guesses?

Got it running today! Turns out the kill switch was corroded enough that there was no continuity through it in the "run" position. All it took was bypassing it with a paper clip and well.....

Rear brake was inop, so I rebuilt the master cylinder and tried to bleed the system only to find the brake hose plugged.... A little safety wire, brake parts cleaner and compressed air and I'm golden Very Happy

Thanks Andy!
To add insult to injury I'm actually giving my near cherry 87 MC16 away! It's going to a good friend that gave me a place to stay for awhile.
