mc18 engine number question

I have just bought a bike that needs putting through the dvla system. On checking the engine number i notice the number is different to the frame.Engine is MC16E-1149010 and the frame is MC18-1118875. is this normal? cheers

All nsr engine numbers, ie. mc18, mc21, mc28, start with mc16, so no worries.

thanks for that.I thought someone may have fitted an older engine.
