Can anyone help, the battery in my 21 looks like its on the way out, optimate says its weak!!! is it possiabel the rectifier cased this??
basically the other day i switch the ignition on and the dash/oil/netral lights where very weak, once it finally kicked over, (took about 9 goes) the lights where nice n bright and everything looked fine, but, dose this mean the generator is okay, if the rectifier has gone would it start at all, or am i worring to much and its just a fecked batterie??
any help on identifing a rectum fryer problem greatly appriciated...
Sounds like the just the battery, but to be sure, get the thing started, then hook up a voltmeter to the battery. If it reads more than 15 volts the regulator is fubar. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

A good battery with no load or charging should read about 12.5 volts. Whilst charging it will read somewhere between this and 14.5 volts, depending on the load (ie all the electric equipment turned on) and the regulator in the system. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

got a new battery from halfords £24 so not to bad, once its charged according to mr optimate, ill get my electrical thingey wotsits and see what load goes accross it, when the bikes running, for sure the other battery is poo!
