I was expecting a veritable database of set-ups and dyno curves to match. Have I missed the thread or something?
Speaking of which, if there are enough dyno results I would be happy to write an online database for NSR-World where people can upload and search a database of dyno results and bike setups. Could be useful if, over time it grows to include enough data points.

Well mine was first NSR on, and made a healthy 45hp! Bum.
I expected a bit more as it'd gone really well on the track, but since it's had absolutely no setup since it came off the track I wasn't too suprised. Going down one jet size caused a jump to 51hp, and a vast improvement in throttle response - Stephen said it wouldn't take full throttle from 4000 and it should - even with the flatslide carbs.
Sadly I had to leave early and didn't get change to tweak anymore, but I do have some changes to make that's for sure! _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Those that were there will understand! After 3.5 hours sleep on Thursday night, and pretty much the same on Friday night (plus the fact we had ingested copious quantities of beer for the night!), we were all pretty comatosed yesterday! I think StephenRC45 said he woke up about 6pm on Sunday!
We will be posting results of the Dyno Day soon, and pictures of the Track Day too, but I've managed to leave my camera at GT in Plymouth, and Dave's not sent me any of his photo's yet.
And Mr. F... that armchair was very comfortable I'll have you know! Besides, at the rate my (er, the communal) NSR was being disassembled for spares, it was a good job I wasn't intending to get out on the track!!! _________________ Andy.

Ive just uploaded the graphs onto a few disks and will email them to andy tonight when i get home so they should be online very soon. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...

From memory, I think 11 NSRs turned up and 10 went on the track, 16's, 18's, '21's and 28's, a few RGV's inc a VJ23, KR1's, RD's (inc a 500) and a couple of proper RS racebikes too, my (very rough) count was 28 2/s there in total and I think the only one not out on track at all was Andy's '21. The race bikes were quick (as they would be) and Keith Butcher's '28 was VERY fast too.
Best dyno result was (I think, I was being distracted by a girl ) Nigel's '21 with 60something bhp, funniest was Dave Ett's 45bhp first run leading Stephen to speculate it may still be restricted! Andy's '21 sounded awesome, though that may have partly been Stephen absolutely screaming the life out it while grinning like a madman. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Yeah, Stephen was convinced one bike would spill its' guts on the dyno, so when it didn't, again I had to offer up the communal NSR for a bashing!
We're not just talking a power run or a quick run through the gears here either, I think Stephen was doing a virtual lap of Cadwell on it (minus the tyre wall) and was up and down through the gears like Rolfo on a hot qualifying lap!
It was a laugh though, especially watching the faces of fear on the onlookers, but given Stephen's best attempts at destroying it, at least I now know the motor is pretty indestructable, even though it's a smidge rich and showing just the customary 60hp. It's still adequately quick on the road. _________________ Andy.

I couldnt do it to anyone elses bike so i had to let my fustration out on Andys... and may i say i enjoyed it very much! _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
it wasnt just the grinning face of a loooonatic, but the waggling of legs and bouncing up and down on the seat whilst ragging the hell out of it that made me laugh _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

Looks like just as the HRC pipes start to work, the lil' old MC16 runs out of puff! The larger MC18 carbs Jeff has yet to fit should help sort this out!
Stephen's MC18 is a flier - and very smooth with it! Not bad for a 17 year old 250!
Stephen thinks his MC21 is running on the conservative side. His graphs were for "event participation" only, so no tweaking took place. He reckons there's a few more ponies in the motor with some fine tuning!
My '21 is only just rebuilt after an "on-the-edge" jetting experience, so definitely a tad rich! A tweak on the mains should bump it over 60hp, but I'd rather keep it reliably rich! I think a tweak of the RC Valves should sort the 60hp barrier out! Still, it held together during Stephen's mad lap of wherever he imagined he was at the end of the day!!!
Hmmm... slung together after 2 years apart, specifically for the weekend, Dave's MC21 made a stunning 44hp on it's first run! Steve was very impressed; "It takes a lot of effort to make less power than stock with those [HRC] modifications!". Dave won the award for most improved... 6hp with one MJ size change!
Nigel never lets us down with his immaculate MC21SP Rossi Mugello. Not only does it look stunning, but kicks out 64hp every run too! Smoothest curve of all the bikes tested.
Lee Shepherd saw the Dyno Day advertised on www.rgv250.co.uk and popped down from N. Devon for the day. A beautiful Pepsi edition RGV250K with a very creditable 58hp
David Reynolds has quite heavily modified his RGV250M. Flowed this and ported that, modified the airbox, and adjusted the ignition timing. We should've kept quiet, as after us NSR boys had given a bit of advice, he picked up 3hp and topped the charts for the day! Oh well, he does have an NS500 that's nearly completed, so at least he's a Honda man too!
There is also a KR1-S with a very respectable 63.3hp to follow, plus Martin77's TDR250 at 48hp, an RD350LC and an Aprilia RS300, but Stephen forgot to e-mail them to me!
Once again, a huge thank you to GT Motorcycles and GT Performance for the use of their facilities for the day, and allowing a bunch of strangers with stinky 2-stokes invade the place!!! _________________ Andy.

Andy, did your bike make an earth shattering 6 bhp at 6700 revs? Isn't that 3 times lower than Stephens? Is this by design? _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
