Hi
Thanks to Eagle Eyes Andy it has become apparent that I have MC28 forks fitted to my MC21.
There seems to be remnants of paint on the legs, or yellowed lacquer maybe, anyway its decision time about how they should look when finished.
I know the ususal strip/polish/scotchbrite is favoured for most but I wondered if I paint them what paint colour should they be?
I recall that some models came with a gloss black painted fork, but do I recall a champagne/silver colour being used? And if so what is that colour?
Well, I'm a big fan of [or as close as] original. Someone did powder coated silver recently, which looked OK.
A couple of the MC21s came with black forks. 1991 R model, the Pentax, and the 1993 black SE model, if I recall correctly. _________________ Andy.

I’m with Andy, keep em original. I painted a set of my folks gold back in the 2000’s to be like the CBR600rr of the time. 10years later I regretted it.
OK, original it is, decision taken!
Can anyone advise what grade (grit) of scotchbrite flap wheel or pad should be used to resemble OEM? (in the case of the flap wheel is it pad only or pad/emery?)
