Brain fade- master cylinder advice

Mon Jun 08, 2020 5:13 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I am having some brain fade I think!
Decided to rebuild the front brake master cyl today, took it all apart (didn’t take any photos because it’s only 4 easy parts!)
Then came to rebuild it and I need a sanity check if anyone can assist?

The seals face in the same direction with the open side of the seal facing towards the bore (spring end) right? So the brake fluid expands the seal under pressure...or have I got it topsy turvey should the seals face out towards the lever hinge?

Any help greatly appreciated 👍

Open end of the seal(s) faces the outlet.

This is how our thumb brake is assembled, if it helps:
