MC21 gear piston sensor

Wed May 18, 2022 6:48 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi fellows, so I have a mc21 which doesn't have a gear position sensor, the female 6 pin g.p.s plug to PGM unit is just dangling there. But the bike seems to run normally without it.

So I was wondering if I could keep it deleted like that, or is there anything bad without the gear position sensor in place? Would the wire splice derestriction bypass the sensor and make it unnecessary?
Thanks a lot for any help!

To be honest, I'd want the GPS in place. The PGM-III is actually incredibly intelligent for a system designed almost 35 years ago, and absolutely does adjust a lot depending on which gear you are in. It's far more sophisticated than just TPS/GPS/RPM too, so if you can source on, I would definitely replace it.

There's one on Yahoo! Auctions right now.
