Good Morning.
I have an intermittent problem with the warning light on the small screen. It started with a brief flash followed by a longer red light then no warning light. At no time did any error code show on the screen. There was no change in the bikes performance.
I changed the battery, cleaned the fuse box and fuses and the fault cleared.
I rode the bike for 250 miles with no warning light showing, but the fault ( red light ) showed again.
I then checked each component that could have caused an error code to show. I unplugged the throttle position sensor, switched on ignition and an error code appeared on the screen. The power valves worked properly with the engine running running and the multi meter showed 14.4volts.
The temperature gauge worked properly.
Oil tank sensor worked properly.
I then cleaned all the multi pin plugs.
The fault is still there.
Is there anyone out there who has any ideas about possible causes for the fault as I have run out of ideas.
Thanks
I'm afraid I can't be of much help in this instance, as I've never had to do any fault-finding with a PGM-IV personally, but hopefully you can get it sorted, and report back how you get on. _________________ Andy.

I have the same problem on my MC28 With the red light flashing. I believe it happened on mine because I removed the Neutral gear switch indicator placed in the crankcase's to change o-ring seal as I rebuilt the engine. (located by the Gear shift). The bike was fine before hand but once removing it I damaged it putting it back in not realising there was a split pin through the shaft that sat in the slot of the internals, unfortunately I didn't see the slot or split pin. When I removed it, it had snapped the split pin and had to make my own by cutting one down and refitting it. Unfortunately probably damaged the internals of the switch causing it not to recognise the neutral gear.
All the happens is I can't find neutral and if I put the stand down it thinks its in gear so cuts out. It doesn't affect the riding in anyway and have been doing for sometime. It is annoying but cant find the spare part anywhere so will have to live with it.
Have you removed or checked this, Do you have the neutral "N" come up on the screen still? Probably isn't this but worth letting you know. Something to try.
