I just picked up a nsr150 with a bad carb. I replaced it with a keihin off the eBays and it jetted it with the stock size. Does great in 2nd and beyond but struggles in first. After playing with the main jet and needle I'm at a loss. It wouldn't be a problem but I can't pull away fast enough off the line and I can't beat the slammed WRX next to me at the lights. The carbie I bought has a power jet on it. I suspect it's too rich because of it. Any thoughts?
I have the same thing with my NSR50. Goes good in all gears but will bog and carry on in 1st. I find to get a good launch in 1st you need to use the clutch to keep it up in the power band and then it will rev out happy into 2nd and off you go. If you try roll into 1st from like 3000rpm it won't go.
