Bristol Classic Bike Show 2024

Apart from an hours queue on the road to get it due to the usual parking on grass being off limits due to the consistent wet weather of late it was a great day out !

Sadly never spotted a single NSR which was a shame but hopefully next year this will be addressed (if Honda owners club or VJMC will have me)

The bike start ups with Jamie Whitman, of some of the more weird and wonderfuls including an early 2000’s Ducati MotoGP bike in Alice livery colours blew your ear drums out

Jim bobs bike - which sadly didn’t get started.

Both these two had less the 1,500 miles on the clock - obviously mint but what a shame, consoled to being forever “garage Queens”. Would have loved to have seen an NSR nestled in there and even a KR1S for good measure

Despite being a Rothmans fan I’m not sure on this one - a mint RC30 would be a dream bike and this one was in amazing condition but somehow just didn’t look comfortable wearing the Rothmans liver, personally Seed racing or even OKI would (in my humble opinion) have been a better choice.

It's a good show. I go ever 2/3 years. I went to Hook Norton brewery instead this weekend.
Wiltshire and Somerset VJMC share a stand. I have seen an MC18 2J with pattern panels in the past. There are more 2 strokes Calne and Castle Combe bike meets.

Of all the Four stokes on show the Sp1 and possibly the SP2 were the only ones that I would have slung a leg over and ridden off on

The Bussa boys with their 10 foot long swing arms did absolutely nothing for me although I can appreciate the engineering that went to creating such a straight line speed machine and the engine starter required to spin the back wheel up is probably bigger than my little MC18

Took the other half with me who passed her CBT last year and still on L plates and she fell in love with a Purple GT750 and then a GS 1000 (liked the chrome and the “proper riding position”)
Perhaps a GT350 when she passes ? although I’ll bet they are still the same weight as a transatlantic cruise ship anchor
