Engine/Motor Mounts

Tue Mar 31, 2015 9:25 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi All,

My motor mounts are long overdue to be replaced. Anyone know sources to obtain new mounts for a MC21 (R7L)?
Also, does anyone know the the difference between parts 50211-KV3-680 and 50211-KV3-700? They are both listed as "engine mount rubber B" in the parts manual. Do I need to order both?

Thanks!
jon

50211-KV3-700 is discontinued. 50211-KV3-680 is still available, and is £9.12 + shipping if bought from us.

You only need 1x 50211-KV3-680. It's the top-rear mount.

Andy, by "us" do you mean NSR-WORLD Performance & Engineering Services?
Can you PM me a quote for all required motor mounts + shipping into Canada?
(MC21-7L)

Thanks!

Wow. Can't believe it's been 10yrs since I've posted this. Life got in the way (had 2 kids) and I'm finally getting around to putting this all back together.
I've gotten the motor back into the frame but concerned about this gap on the lower right side mount.

I've installed the the outlined parts

Front engine mount: 36, 17, 13, 17, 5, 5, 17 13, 17, 31
Lower Rear engine mount: 36, 37, 6, 17, 21, 21, 17, 39
Upper Rear engine mount: 40, 17, 15, 17, 32

In the parts diagram, I'm not sure about part combinations (14,1Cool, (14, 19, 14) or (20,16)
To me it seems (20,16) is a the same as part 15?
likewise (14, 19, 14) the same as parts (21,21)
Can someone confirm? Or am I missing parts in my installation process?

also, its been 10yrs since I've last been on this forum. it's nice to see all the old names i recognized from way before (andy, etc..) thank you all for still being around and helping with the dream!

Good to see you back, Jon!

Check out the Service Manual page 20-35. That should answer your issue. (Note that it's applicable to all NSRs from 1988 onwards, hence why it's in the MC18 supplement.)

Thanks for the quick reply Andy!
hmmm...I'm guessing "clearance to zero" is just enough thread for the lock nut to sit?

I have a feeling I may have mixed up the long front and the rear hanger bolts. I have excess thread coming off the rear.
