Evening all,

What's the easiest / safest way to remove the water pump mechanical seal, I don't have access to a hydraulic press and really don't want to be knocking out with a hammer and damage the casing.

any ideas / help would be appreciated.

Bearing removed no problem with a puller, just the mechanical seal is being a challenge

Update, as soon as I posted this, a little heat and out it popped!!

Oddly, the method you prefer not to use is the one most of us have used. There is no salvaging it so what you essentially need to do is get it out without damaging the case. Mine was really mangled, but it did come out.
