I have C spec cylinders and cannot workout from the "notes and spec" page which letter pistons I need. I think that I require D pistons. Am I right or just STOOPID! _________________ Hmmmmm!
The letter that was stamped on the piston crown, has long since gone AWOL that's before I get replies to check the old piston _________________ Hmmmmm!
I thought you were in the 300 club? If so then TYGA only do one size and most of their barrels seems to be "B's" _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Hey Stephen!, I swing both ways. oooppps!!! don't read into that too deeply.I am a 300 boy as well as a good old 250 freak. I am renovating a set of 250s and need the information to order these spares. _________________ Hmmmmm!
The pistons:bore clearance could be too tight. Get the correct ones - it's not worth the risk!
You have to remember that although the pistons slide up and down the bore easily when cold/upon assembly, they are pretty much a "press fit" once the engine is at full operating temperature! (Hence the need for a top quality fully synthetic 2-stroke oil!)
If you have the wrong pistons (i.e. they are too tight a tollerance) then you are asking for trouble. _________________ Andy.

so maybe this is why it exploded at the trackday ,when i get the barrels back i will get the pistons from you andy, were is the info on cylinder sizes and what letter piston you need?i looked at the site and cant find it,any help?
Although the MC18 section to the Online Parts Manual isn't completed yet, the info is applicable to all models.
Go to the Online Parts Manual and look at the MC16/21/28 page covering the crankshaft, and click the "notes" link. This will show you the compatability chart.
The diagram in the MC16 section is clearest. _________________ Andy.

Remember that although the part numbers in the OPM are taken directly from the relevant parts manuals for the respective year, a lot of the numbers for the earlier models are now superceeded.
It's always best to double check the numbers/availability when ordering, although it's difficult to actually think of anything we haven't been able to supply so far! _________________ Andy.

Of course if youre like me and youve had your barrel replated so many times you can no longer see what the hell the barrel used to be just send the platers any old piston and they will replate to suit. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
