Good guesses, but not quite. It's the outlet for the float bowl drain, and no, there shouldn't be a hose on it. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

[quote="HKSRR"]Am I missing a hose here? top of front sprocket. sorry for ignorance.
HKSRR Yes there should be a hose on it, along with the other carb float bowl.
That is why the extrusion is there. You will notice the raised diameter on the end, so as the hose is retained in place when you attach the clips on.
It is a two-pipe arrangement that is joined at the bottom and exits with the other overflow and breather hoses on the right hand side of your bike, under the footrest hanger.
Yoy think? I've never ever seen a pipe on a float bowl drain on any bike. You fit one when you want to drain the bowl and remove it after, as it's a pointless pipe unless you're actually doing the draining - unlike other pipes which are breathers and perform a funtion the whole time. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Yeah.. iom's on the mark two rubber hoses fit the carby drains and run down past the swing arm pivot they'd be about 300mm long. I ditched mine they always seem to get snagged on something when you're trying to pull the carbs off.. again

Dave, they are standard fitment on the NSR!
If you have never seen one on your NSR they were missing.
Not suprising, it was 7 years old when I bought it. Oh well, live and learn. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

thanks for all the replies. 2 stroke oil leak in the pic is not because of the missing hose, right? any idea where I should start looking? sometimes 2T oil leak down all the way to exhuast.
No the only thing that will come out of those drains is clean fuel.
If thats 2T take a look at the 2T feed tubes that run from the oil pump to the other side of the carbs. One of them may be split or not fitted correctly resulting in one of the carbs not actually getting any oil fed to it. So check it out as a matter of importance
That cable running top left also looks mis-placed, as the bung is not sitting in a groove? (or is it held in by the sprocket cover? It's been too long since I took that cover off.) _________________ MC21SP Plaything
