How do you guys prevent from getting vapor lock when using aftermarket gas caps. I dont want to do the whole vent tube thing either.

Why are you using an aftermarket cap? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

well, the stock cap has like 7 layers of crusty paint and the vortex cap came with the bike. Like Steve said...it looks cool too.
anyone? I know theres got to be at least one us that uses one. I could just drill a hole right through the cap but that leaves it open to moisture and leakage. I know that theres some clever trick to this. I'm just not clever. _________________ MC21 300R w/SE bits, Rossi 2001

John,
With all the after market caps I use on Honda's I take a small drill, and drill a hole just above the location of the vent on the tank, allowing the vent to still work. If you look at the standard cap, you will notice a vent on it that matches up with the tank. I drill a hole in the after market tank at that same place. When you take the screw on cap off, you will find a flat surface. There is a hole in this that is where the gas goes in. On that flat surface is where I drill the hole for the vent.
