How much should i be paying?

Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:28 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all

i am looking at getting rid of my gsxr400 for a MC21 and was wondering what sort of money 21's sell for as the sale of the gsxr has to fully fund it unless someone wants a swap Very Happy

i'm not bothered if it needed some work as bits and pieces i could do at a later date

Cheers all

Mick

Wondered when you'd be over Mick!

MC21's will go for anything between £800 and £2000 depending on the condition of them. Bodywork is horrendously expensive new, whereas engine parts are pretty plentifull and cheap enough all things considered.

The R is the base model, the SE the middle, and SP the top of the range. Do you like to tinker? If so, get whatever comes up, then fit aftermarket bodywork, USD forks, Ohlins shocks, Magtek wheels, wavy disks, whatever takes your fancy!

cheers Dave that was the sort of reply i was hoping for, i can now sell my gsxr knowing i'll probably get a similar condition 21 Very Happy

i dont mind a bit of a tinker so condition is'nt overly important and i'm pperfectly capable of doing anything that would be needed, infact i think the gsxr is the 1st bike i've had that i havent messed with

Ah ha, if that was the one posted by ROBO1 then its mine LOL and if you all asked for photo's of the other side you'd seen it was a SE not an R single seat, remote resivor, dry clutch and se forks.. Bike looks very tidy indeed, He's delivering it to my house tomorow, Even told the chap it was an SE but he wanted rid sharp as he bought his bandit and cant insure both bikes, so got it for £800.....as the segal in Nemo say's MINE MINE...mine mine mine sorry, kids had it on last night, cracks me up!!!!!!!! its a 1993 on a K Plate 15000km

in the last 6 months it has had new
chain & sprockets
battery
plugs
oil filter
air filter
a full service
braided front hoses

the rear panels have seen better days but the bike is mechanically sound, there is plenty of life in the tyres which have done about 2000 miles (most of it motorway)

it has a Micron end can and i also have the standard can

i will seriously consider any sensible offer

bike will also come with

a full fairing which is ready for spraying (ideal for track days
a good set of downpipes
box of assorted bits and pieces (nuts, bolts and assorted brackets etc...)

i might even throw in the paddock stand if the money's right

i'll post some photos later

And what sort of money are you looking to get for it? Approx?

Or rather, what do you think its worth?

Question

That's a sweet looking bike Mick. Perhaps you'd be better off putting it in the classifieds section?
