Just read an old thread about repainting magteks. The general consensus was to paint and not powder coat. But, is it really worth stripping off all the old finish and starting from scratch. The finish that's on here now is not bad, just the wrong color? I'm thinking more along the lines of roughing it up a bit and just recoating. Any reasons not to do this?

About 2 race seasons ago i had my mags sand blasted and powder coated black.This cost about $100 NZ dollars 3 sets of tyres later no chips or flaking,the coat looks as good as when it went on also the tyres keep their pressure.
All up no probs.
