Hello all,
I've had some very strange problems with my 94 NSR 125RR. I was just riding home from a friend's house, and I hadn't got too far when the engine spluttered and died. I pushed it back to his, and the next day investigated a little bit. I eventually traced the problem to the spark plug. I found a motorbike shop, and got another one the same ( an -ES). Started up the bike & it runs. Seemed fine until i tried to ride it, but now every time I open the throttle, the engine dies, but at tickover the revs keep increasing at an alarming rate, as if I had the throttle slightly open. Then the strangest part, it won't turn off! the only way to stop it is to stall it. When you turn off the key, the revcounter turns off but the engine keeps going.
that is an odd one. could be a carb problem. check the carbs not flooding, and there are no air leaks.
if the engine is revving hard and you try to turn if off it will try to run on.
Last night I went back to where the bike is now, and set the tickover down to where it should be. Now it ticks over fine, but still runs on. It also still dies every time you try to accelerate. It does seem to be an ignition fault actually, as the engine did stop when i popped off the HT lead. Does anybody have any wiriing diagrams for a 125 NSR?
Or an air leak making it run very lean, and causing pre-ignition when the proper ignition is turned off. Fuel is gravity feed so it'll keep coming! _________________ MC21SP Plaything
