i went for a blast tonight and got up some speed when the arse-end started to wobble violently, then the power went a.w.o.l so i rolled over to the side of the road to have a look but i everything looked ok any ideas :
I have known speed weave to occur when swingarm bearings are worn and there is enough play for the rear wheel to wobble from side to side at high speed. I have also found that if you are a big guy, or are using luggage that sticks out either side of your bike, that can also cause weave too.
As for the power.... no idea????? _________________ After years of moaning about immigrants now i am one...
yep, i am a big bloke 6.7-17 stone. the swingarm bearings sounds like it could be the course, i have just had it polished and i am now thinking that i mite not have put it back on right as for the tyres they where new 700 miles ago the pressures are ok. just had a look at the forks and the seals look fooked but thay are not leaking is it a job and a half to change them if not how much oil do you put in
Come on boyz, this is an NSR we're talking about here, not a potter down to the shops chicken chaser.
Keep these things in good working order and they'll repay you with an exhilarating riding experience, but if you don't give them the love they deserve then they'll take it out on you and try to do you damage!
The fork seals are not a big job, but you do need some special tools. Taking the seals out is easy, but refitting them without damage requires a special seal driver. But if you'd rather not deal with it then the best advice is probably to take it to a reputable MX shop as those boyz are always pulling things apart and a set of NSR fork seals will be a breeze.
Fork oil quantity depends on the model. I think Andy's got a oil level and quantity guide here somewhere on his site.

Sounds perfect. Doesn't sound like an engine running near siezure, so I'd discount that. Back to suspension / wheels I think. _________________ MC21SP Plaything
