hi all i've had a post running for a while now with no response so thought i'd try the message board , im after a cdi unit for my mc21 ( pgm III) or someone who could repair mine , it has a damaged capactor on the ignition side but the black gunk they fill these things with is preventing me form trying to do this myself, there must be a spare one out there some were, any help at all i would be most greatfull. cheers all.
Marks for persistence, you obviously need some help.
I may have 2 spare PGM-IIIs. I say may, as I've bought a HRC PGM-III but as yet untested. If it the HRC PGM works, I'd be happy to sell you a fully functioning PGM-III, one of my then 2 spares. I hope to have the bike assembled and running by 2nd weekend of May, I'm currently overseas.
Alternatively, try ok!shon / yahoo auctions, usually several PGMs on there for sale.
Expect this post to be locked, so PM me if you want to chat more. _________________ Rich

Dave Ett was looking into repairing pgm's. I sent him some dead ones to play with a while ago, I dont know if he had any luck with it?
Some one once posted a link to a Japanese web site which showed how to repair them so I guess its possible.

I've tried replacing those capacitors, but it seems that there's something else that makes them blow. First was a PGMIV. It worked for about 5 seconds before smoke poured out and it went pop. Another try was a PGMIII which went bang again within about 2 seconds and spewed all the molten juice everywhere. Quite amusing
