They still got a good deal !! Did you price the stuff ? Shipping alone would be half the sale price of that auction. I was watching it also but i wasn't that much in need.

Hmmmm, this is how proxy bid auctions work, you bid the amount you're willing to pay and the person who bids most wins Rolling Eyes

This is the prices for the kit
spark upper $215
fender $63
seat $200
tail light $33
headlight $82

Total $593+postage from Thailand which apparently would be $200.

So that's $793, now presuming the buyer is doing a Tyga NSR and even if he takes off the price of the slightly damaged tail (all that generation tail units crack there, mine is on both sides a bit) and ignores the fact it's painted he could happily bid more;

$793 minus $200 for the tail equals $593, maybe knock $100 off as your going to need to ship a 250 GP lower cowling and possibly a tail from Tyga anyway, so now worth $493 then take a bit off as it's second hand kit and post inthe US isn't free.
So it's worth at least $350-400 even if the seat is scrap (which it isn't, so $450 is more realistic), the guy still got an absolute bargain, if you wanted it you should have bid what it's worth, you could have happily put $400 on it, if he outbids you still then fine, he wants it more Idea

To be fair if he wants a Repsol Tyga spark NSR and the tail is useable it's worth the best part of $1000 to him.

Everyone has got no feedback at sometime, the first thing I ever bought was a £200 ($350) set of rearsets, I still paid.

All I ever do on Fleabay is put a sniper on and have it bid the max I'll pay, that way the price can't get pushed up by the seller and if I get outbid thats fine as I'd have paid no more for the item.

Ebay is a great place at times.
If there is a big war going on then unfortunately it's just not going to be your day.
I've watched stuff where the price has been jacked up beyond reasonable limits only to peak early and stagnate.

Auction snipers - never used one and never will, if you want something then pay the money. It's as simple as that.
Supply and demand, an age old byatch if you are on the demand side of it.

No, I know who it is! Smile

That's me bidding on the triples too... I had a set in the back of my car when it got stolen! (Along with 3 cranks, a barrel, my trusty angle grinder and Fontyyy's favourite orange screen!) Sad

I remembered Chester362 has a set of triples with my name on them though... after I bid! Rolling Eyes

I'm surprised the thief didn't bring it back in disgust. He's probably still in therapy after looking at it.

Andy you should join some of the 400 boys with your fancy coloured bits.
A post like this comes up every now and then and gets shot down every time.
