relocate ignition

Fri Dec 16, 2005 11:46 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

How easy is it to move the ignition switch to the helment lock? I'm going to install mc28 se/sp suspension front & rear to my mc21r soon. Cool Yeah I know it's not rs stuff but I'm happy. Very Happy

Is the rear shock pretty easy?

Thanks for the help.

Why relocate ? Reuse your top triple mount and everything works the same ( Steering Lock ).

To answer the question. Took me maybe 10-15 minutes of re-routing the wire loom back to the area, and mounting the ignition switch to the helmet lock mount.

because it looks kinda cool with no ignition barrel there, specially if you have a custom yoke.
Nigel has done this on his Rossi Mugello rep 21 and it looks good.

and happy you should be with you new sussys Very Happy

The shape of the 28 triple looks better than the 21. Plus it's in better condition. No key switch does look clean.

The keycard looks even cooler! Maybe you can dispense with the standard key and fabricate a card style switch instead...

Mounting

Mon Jan 09, 2006 7:59 pm » Post: #11 » Download Post

How did you guys mount the ignition switch to the bracket? Did you flip the switch upside down? Did you have to make some brackets since the holes don't line up? Sorry, it didn't seem straight forward to me.

Thanks
